The Eclipse is worse, because not only you get sent to eternal damnation no matter what. but your also getting eaten alive by past humans that have lives for hundreds of years. Even if you survive. you have to live a life of constant survival and have to deal with PTSD

The rumbling and both the Eclipse were so terrible

The steam from the wall titans literally burned people alive, so many died and it was not because of the titans being too fast and stepping on millions. Imagine hearing millions of earthquakes coming right towards you as people push, kick you away as they need to survive on their own too

But the Eclipse

Yeah sure “erm acktually only 30 people died 🤓🤓🤓” but those poor souls suffered the worst fates possible, getting ripped and torn to shreds as demons eat them. The worse of all, even if you do manage to survive it, the rest of your life is filled with demons hunting you down and trying to sacrifice you to the new Godhand. You think your life is bad, you should be lucky you don’t live like Guts. When you die you are tormented in hell for eternity, just a slave to be a body of new demons to arrive. No one is saving you are you stuck there forever.

The Eclipse was way worse, yeah sure the rumbling killed billions, that’s very gruesome but the aftermath of the event. Before the Eclipse there were rarely any apostles in the world but after the Eclipse more apostles arrived and soon began to spread like wildfires, torturing people for their own pleasure and hunting down other humans who might have the brand of sacrifice, ok you can say the hundred year war turned the nation of Midland into a wasteland but the apostles only made that already baron ruined land into a hopeless, bleak world where apostles rule towns, cities, etc. in every corner of the kingdom.

The Rmubling was terrible but IMO the Eclipse was far more gruesome and cruel

I disagree. Yes The Rumbling is more destructive and the level of genocide is higher. But you still had a chance, ever so slightly chance of surviving The Rumbling. The Eclipse? Once you're taken to the Astral World and branded, you're screwed. You literally have no way out of it, you will be tortured and devoured by apostles and then your branded soul is tormented for all of eternity. With the Rumbling, you've got a small chance of survival, but at worst, death is your salvation. But if you were destined to die by The Eclipse, your greatest salvation was to have never been born at all.

The anime berserk takes place in the middle ages if it took place in the modern era. ngl we MIGHT survive with modern weaponary. But the rumbling why actually might be cooked those titans have super regen literally surviving a headshot and their normal speed is the speed of a fully sprinting horse and their steam literally burned people alive just by being near them.
