In the military, they tell snipers to take a full breath in, breathe half out, and then hold and shoot - works wonders for shooting photography as well :)

Another great video Paul! Thanks for being helpful for me learning photography; couple years ago I bought a D3400, since then I am now using a Canon 70D and Sony A7r3 to make a living! Keep up the great work!

I have only been with my camera a bit over a year. A D3400. Still so much in learningprocess. I'm in to one lens only. So I have the Tamron 18-400. But have learned so much from you over this year. So many thanks .👍

When I saw you pull out the camera/monopod setup it made me realize how happy I am my tripod has one.
Sure I hate that I sometimes loosen it by mistake, but thinking back on it I'm happy it got included - It's gonna open up many options this summer, I hope 😁
I also like the new/reused video idea. I like your long videos, but small fillers can be great as well!

Short in length, but when you know what you're doing pleasur... Wait a second, wrong subject.
😁 Video is short, doesn't feel rushed and it's got some good bits of info stuck in there!

I bought my first Pro-semi Pro Camera & took it to the Desert for a few pictures of Wild Free Horses & a Big cat had recently stepped in the wet sand where the waterway was at ground level/above ground -1🐾 Cat's paw print: for scale, I was close, careful & bright enough to put a Dime in one of the toe prints/impressions in that wet sand. Perfect! One print, one Dime for scale & one shot for my new Olympus OMPC (of course: Olympus/Original Micro Processor Chip- mid '80s). That was a great camera; a flick of the switch & self /Auto Focus & zoom with these discreet robotic sounds from this to that a few feet away from the Camera Eye ('Click, chok') & a Fool (🙋‍♂️- me) was a great photographer snapping quietly as horses came down to belly up full of water for the nights as I hid in the tumbleweed - Sage brush & finding a Dozen Arrow heads. That was before china ruined the market w/Planned obsolescence for anything that said it was a product of china and built to break.

Nice video. Increasing shutter speed is also advised.

Hi Paul! I have been enjoying watching your videos. I found you while looking for videos about focus.
In this video you state to turn off the IS when on a tripod. May I ask for you to clarify why that is?

Thank you for the great refreshers. Sometimes it is great to go back to the basics. I have learned a few things about my camera (I shoot with a Canon) from your videos.

What would you do if say you were photographing in a museum where the lighting wasn’t the best and they didn’t allow tripods?
