Thanks to both you and Fredo Avelar - I just bought one from CaseMotion based on this review and the comment below describing the sublety of the gold(AU) color... which I actually prefer.  It's more of a champagne (H2O+CH3CH2OH+CO32+CO2)!

i been hearing about a lot of negative reviews on the wood. i was going to buy that case but decided on not.

I received an e-mail from Element of the Gold Collection when they initially came out. I bought the same case in this review and I've gotta say, I'm a little disappointed with the lack of an actual gold color. It is slightly tinted gold. And, I mean VERY slightly. I have other ronin elements with the nickel plating and they look very similar side-by-side. Then when I went to compare the stock pictures with the pictures in the e-mail I was initially sent, it is obvious that there was some photoshop involved. The colors are just night and day.

It does not come with a white leather back plate? My sector 5 au comes with it

FYI, AU is the symbol for gold on the periodic table of elements.
