Microsoft Fabric is an end-to-end data analytics Saas solution product of Microsoft. It brings many workloads in the analytics area, including Data Integration, Warehousing, Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science, and Real-time Analytics. It is often a question of how the pricing of this platform works. This looks expensive, and how much I should pay for that are common questions. So here in this article and video, we will deep dive into the licensing in a way that answers all your questions.

Thank you. The explanation of combining F2 with a Pro license was very helpful.

I’m confused. It sounds like you were saying a P1 capacity will still be 60k a year. This is the same as an F64 which is 100k a year. But is it true the p1 gives you access to all the fabric features? Why would you ever by an F64. Shouldn’t everyone just by the p1 or p2, etc.

Awesome explanation. We use an enterprise license, an E5, so adding F2 seems like a no brainer to experiment

Hello, and many thanks! I would like to ask is it possible to do embedding for your customer scenario with F SKU? In that case that would be another gold scenario, that instead of EM1 that costs 700usd, you may use F2 for 260usd

Very interesting thank you for presenting the licensing of Fabric.
I just have a question about how can we size correctly the capacity of Fabric in terms of quantity of data or data processing ?

For example, if I have 100 reporting BI, 200 dataflows and pipelines and 20 data science workflow, which CU I need for my business ?

Thank you in advance.

Reza, at 14:15 you compared 50 PPU vs 50 Pro + F2. You said that 50 Pro + F2 were a better option. Ok – the costs are approximately equal, but what about the number of v-cores and the amount of memory? It seems that F2 is too limited vs PPU on shared capacity, is it not?

"Hello, in my organization, we have one Power BI developer and 30 other users who have been added from our Azure ID. Currently, we are using the Fabric trial and now I want to purchase Fabric. Which pricing plan would you suggest as being the most affordable?"

Hello Thanks for your explanation Reza. When comparing the two videos of yours, the Power BI Licensing Ultimate Guide and Microsoft Fabric Licensing An Ultimate Guide, one difference that i noticed is the storage cost in Fabric. Was there any storage cost for P SKU's licensing for Power BI Premium. Looks like the cost of storage was introduced when the concept of Onelake was introduced in Fabric.

Thanks, as you mentioned, the consumption is capacity based, if we need to be PRO user and then start the trial ??
Is there any Microsoft offical calculater to calculate the cost during public review?? Thanks.

So a low capacity scenario. If we took the F2 model, with 2 Power BI pro licenses for developers. Then we have 100 end users that we want to share the reports with. Would we have to purchase power bi pro licenses for the users or could they have free licenses?

I don't understand storage limit for P1 capacity. Now we pay fix price. Now we can create lakehouse, datawarehouse - will that mean extra cost? Or can we use P1 storage 100 TB?

Many thanks Reza. If we have Azure Portal for Data Factory and SQL server (not too much data) and also premium license would it be cost saver to move ETL and Server storage to Fabric?

Hello
what makes me use fabric rather than using each services individually (ADF, powerBI, etc )

Hello, PPU license is equivalent P3 Power Bi SKU. In this case F256 is equivalent to PPU license ?

Thank you so much! Can you please help in showing how can F* capacities be accessed. I created a capacity but not able to access.
