I love your advice/warning about taking care of the human voice. It's the one instrument that can't be replaced once it's damaged or ruined. I enjoy how you teach. You use your voice to give so many examples, both good and bad. Plus it's obvious that you care about people becoming the best singers they can be.

Normally singing or talking teachers use the exact same exercises, so boring but here there is such variety and info!

Thank God.I was struggling to find my true voice, because whenever I record myself, my voice sounds different as if the timber changes.

LOL! At 3:28 you made my day :) I've always been an imitator of voices, even as a child, talking like people I knew or observed, and that carried over into music when I got older. And so it's difficult for me to actually know what my voice sounds like. So your advice is appreciated. I suppose the only songs that I sing that I'm not (at least to some degree) imitating someone else, is when I'm singing Psalms. There's simply no one to imitate, so that's a good thing on that aspect. But those are typically to Classical and Medieval tunes, so it's not going to have the same sort of feel as a more modern rock song. I've subscribed to your channel :)

This is excellent! I just tried this out on my voice from speaking to singing! It's so cool and informative. Beautiful job well done!

this is super helpful. i know i have trouble all the time because i imitate the people singing in their songs rather than track down what is more natural to me...

I discovered that my vocal range changes with ammount of stress I`m getting or relief means due my hormonal disbalance. Now living hard times under the stress I`m contrealto... better times I was defined as even mezzo and after alto

As always, a great video! The
goal is to sing while still preserving the voice and keeping it healthy. Very well
explained!

I have this paused and 33 seconds on to say - Just last night literally on a whim I had my pitch app open that I have used when practicing scales to test my accuracy. And I was talking to myself and thought "wow. I can't believe that I hadn't just observed my speaking voice in my pitch app!" And started too notice the range my speaking voice spans.

And then I wake up this morning and started watching this lol!

This is amazingly cool I always had doubted myself for not having any confidence in myself and being scared of accepting it

I can’t thank you enough Freya. I have been applying the tips from your technique videos (vowels placement and no darkening of the voice are my main go-to’s), . For the very first time I start hearing my true voice and no longer dislike it! Your book is so inspirational and keeps me motivated! Would you consider making a short video on music gear for recording at home? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and passion 🙏

I would love for you to analyze to one of the newest female rock singers - Moriah Formica. She was on The Voice a few years ago at 16 and is 19 now and has a voice comparable to Ann Wilson/Lzzy Hale/Amy Lee with incredible range. She does some covers that have gone viral covering Heart, Steelheart, Skid row and Dokken, but her originals will blow you away. Champion is a great song that shows her range.

Very helpful. The first video I’ve come across on singing where it’s easy to understand. Definitely subscribing 😁

Awesome thank you so much. Every time you make a new video it's like it was made just for me, and what I am working on! Thank you for your explanations and demonstrations, you really simplify things and it all makes sense.

Thank you Freya for this video! For me all your singing tips have been very helpful. This subject is so important. It is so encouraging to explore your own natural voice and realize that it sounds pretty okey. I have also started to appreciate diversity of human voice. The voice is quite amazing instrument.
