Grettir is a family run Guesthouse in the heart of Reykjavík .The charming wooden house was built in 1901 . Of course the house has been fully renovated and is equipped with all modern comforts. Free Wi-Fi in all Rooms The main entrance to Grettir is from Laugavegur 28A, in a small back house on Reykjavík’s main shopping street. The entrance to Grettir is through a gated underpass, right between the “Reykjavík Backpackers” hostel and “Eva”, a woman’s clothing store. Another landmark to look for is the hardware store “Brynja”, a beautiful old style timber house, painted a vibrant red.

If you take the Fly-bus, you can ask the driver to drop you off at Reykjavik backpackers our next door neighbors (Laugavegur 28) or close to it. 
Grettir Guesthouse can also arrange our private pick up or drop off at the airport at the cost of 15.000 Ikr. (100€) (Not a bad option for 4 persons or more.) We have a comfortable Econoline that has seats for up to 8 persons.
At the guesthouse there are really no formal check in procedure. We (the caretakers) are usually at the guesthouse jurying the day but you can let yourselves in at later hours. if you want me to welcoming you then it is no problem also, I just need your flight your number or about what time you will arrive.
The check in is at 3:00 (15:00) in the afternoon and check out is at 12:00 noon. 
We have a key box outside the door for guests to use to get into the house. I will give you the code when it is closer to your arrival.

Breakfast is self served and everything in the fridge door and bottom drawers is provided and bread on the table, serial above the fridge and tea and coffee on top of shelf above the sink and fruits on the table. (Every room has then a private shelf in the fridge for themselves if you want to put something in the refrigerator) We also offer free Wifi at the house and in all our rooms.
