America's hunger crisis grows more severe as pandemic worsens

Hunger in America, especially for children, has soared to historic levels amid the coronavirus pandemic. Pamela Taylor is senior vice president of the national anti-hunger organization "Share Our Strength." She joined CBSN to discuss the efforts her group is making to fight childhood hunger.

Before the pandemic, there were many studies exposing the fact that a substantial number of Americans could not afford a $400 emergency.

Could they perhaps lower their prices for basic necessities so that people don't have to depend on food banks quite so much?
