Indeed, Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are both knowledgable and extremely likable, and their finished home designs are to die for. But while the home renovation juggernaut keeps cranking out the stunning transformations, there's a lot more going on behind the scenes. One can only assume the obvious that if you have any contractor come into your home its going to cost money and at times more money. I have seem most if not all if the Fixer Upper episodes. I love this couple and its been a pleasure to watch them work their magic.

If I had Chip and Joanna redoing my house, I'd make sure I had the budget for the furniture and decor too. To me that's 75% of the beauty of the finished product.

Some of these things mentioned like the price for renovations which comes from the home owner themselves and the staging decorations as temporary, were mentioned often in the shows. I guess some details are forgotten overtime.

Great show-still like to go back and watch them. I would not want them to reno my home since I love the old woodwork and vintage kitchen. I wouldn't want a to the studs reno-I prefer paint and cosmetic changes. Love this couple and their sweet family-I love that they included the kids in their show, so adorable :)

If I ever got my house done by them I would take pics/videos of everything and try to come as close as possible with the furnishings and decor that get taken away at a more affordable price. 🤑

I want to go there and see everything they have done!! It's Wonderful what they are doing to spruce up their own town!!

I think we All can contribute to our own towns and keep them viable!! We especially need to do this in this 2021 political and economic climate we are in right now.

We don't want America and American towns and cities to fall into disrepair. That will create crime havens and "no go zones, " which we do not want. We want to Keep America standing!!!

Chip learned the hard back breaking way of doing construction I don't know him but have done this type of work all my life, if anyone thinks it's easy should think twice. Chip have good health insurance

They explain, plus most people are aware that the houses are staged. It's television from LaLaLand, so you expect the front facade.

Most of these shows are contributing to people having a totally unrealistic view of how long these renovations take and the money and effort involved. People want all the best finishes and don't realize the labour that comes with it.

You missed the part where the production covers Chip and Joanna's fees. Meaning that you get an interior designer and a project manager plus the one big ticket item for participating. And a lot of time Joana would add some stuff herself. So yes you pay for the house, the material and labour, but not for Chip and Joanna.

I've really enjoyed watching these people. But it seems to me that in these contracts they want to control what you do with your property if you want their services. I guess I would have somebody else do it then so I can have control over my own property
