Thinking about leaving the Apple ecosystem? But you think it is impossible to leave or switch the Apple ecosystem? iPhone users have a hard time switching over to Android because of the Apple ecosystem. Here's my take on leaving the Apple ecosystem.

Google Duo is going to be your best bet on Android, especially on the Pixel which is basically native to the OS and works fantastic. Maybe even better than FaceTime

Google Duo is a favorite even with my iPhone using family. The connection and video quality is consistently better than FaceTime. That is the message coming from iPhone users.

24 hrs on Android and I almost started punching holes in the wall !!
Went back to Apple.
Gave my daughter my S22 Ultra, Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds Pro.
Was an expensive experience.

You seem to leave out one of the most important reasons to switch: pricing.
iPhones (at least in Europe) have moved up into insane price brackets. Whereas with Android, you have many very capable and much better priced models to chose from (I can recommend OnePlus a lot). And you can do with your phone pretty much whatever you want, whereas iOS is very much a walled garden (which has pros, but also a lot of cons).

I've recently made the switch to Android and while I'm loving the Pixel 6 Pro and have no regrets... I continue to have an Apple Watch on my wrist. There just isn't anything on Android yet that can match it. Yet.

Nearby share is built in android works really well....thats the replacement for airdrop. No need to install an app

Android has a built-in nearby share feature to share files quickly from Android to Android. You should try out the "Your phone" app that syncs your phone with a windows PC. You can copy & paste text as well as pics between your phone and computer. The app also allows you to make and receive calls from your PC through your phone, access and send messages, see all your notifications etc. Kinda like how an iPhone syncs with Mac

LOL, the first change I made was from MacOS to Win11. As for Android their “Your Phone” app brings all the integration I used plus mirroring. Drag and drop and copy paste even calling from your Win11 computer are all supported with the Samsung and Pixel I’ve tried it with. I’ve used Google Duo over FaceTime from the start. It’s just easier and works from all devices. Hope this helps :)

I’ve been using iPhone since 3GS. This year I bought myself the z flip 3. Beautiful phone but in the end, sold it and went back to my X. It’s not that iPhone is better, it is certainly not. Just that it’s more familiar. I couldn’t get use to the little things like how notifications is presented. It cant play music when I plug it into my car with no Android Auto. Well it doesn’t have Apple CarPlay either but still works fine. Anyway….it’s difficult to move away from Apple. Going to buy an iPhone 13 mini next

It's so funny to me when I hear people who been with Apple for many years say how their products start to feel stale. I was the same way with android and windows having spent about 95% of my life on windows and android. I used to be a HUGE apple hater but over the years began to take a liking to Apple products. It took MANY years (starting in 2009 with the ipod classic 7th gen) to finally make my way to a mac but I now have no interest in anything else now.
