Nice video Dave. I appreciate your instruction of Topaz. Interesting, I downloaded 1.2.2 on mac without having to do the steps you mentioned in the beginning. They must have improved it?

Hi Dave love the videos Topaz has a lock next to the crop tool which allows you to crop in the normal way.

They changed the crop tool to work the same way as cropping works in other applications like Lightroom, to keep things working consistently across editing workflows. I like that.

Thanks Dave. The new crop tool is like other software, Lightroom etc. I kinda liked the center method but it's ok either way for me.

Very good update Dave, and thanks. I have no issue with the crop issue you mentioned, BUT I would love it if Topaz would add "Rotate Crop" to the options.

I am do prefer this new crop. It would be nice if they allowed you to change it's behavior by pushing the alt/option key.

Yikes! Topaz Photo AI does make images look much better, but I am totally amazed at how much it increases the file sizes. My DNG files are typically in the range of 50MB to start, but running one through Photo AI will more than double it to around 124 MB using Lightroom Classic's File/Plug-in Extras / Process with Topaz Photo AI to create a new DNG file, and if I open Photo AI from Lightroom Classic and edit the file as TIF it makes the files around 215 MB! It also screws up the properties for the image dimensions. LOL, I don't know if I have enough storage space to do bulk processing of a bunch of files from an event.

Sometimes face recovery makes a person look 20-30 years younger by removing all imperfections and minor wrinkles. Flattering, maybe, but not natural.

I like to crop each side independently so I like the new way better.

I prefer the old way to crop. I especially find it very disturbing to move the image instead of the grid when positioning the crop. It would be nice if they'd implement the possibility to switch between both behaviors by pushing the alt/option key.

I have never used their cropping tool but, even so, how hard could it be, since they already had it working the other way, to offer the option of choosing one or other?

Rather than dictatorially forcing one option on us and closing down our ability to choose the other option?

On a Mac here and failed to install twice after double clicking .pkg file in the download folder. Had to move file to desktop when got a message to allow folder access which I ok'd. Installation successful then. I prefer this crop tool method as what I am used to.
