Sarah Boone's Attorney Withdraws...AGAIN

Sarah Boone's attorney has filed a motion to withdraw from the case saying that Boone's best option is to represent herself. It's the latest in a string of attorneys who have withdrawn. Boone is accused of zipping up her boyfriend inside a suitcase, leaving him there to die. Her trial is set to begin October 2nd.

I can see the problem of representing her when she's claiming to be completely innocent. Every lawyer I'm sure is telling her to make a plea deal because she will absolutely lose in court. She seems to believe she will get off.

This is getting ridiculous. She can’t afford her own counsel and has been so insufferable to her court appointed attorneys that they’ve all quit!
She obviously thinks she smart enough to represent herself so let her do so!!!
This woman is a nightmare.
That being said, I know that everyone is entitled to a defense. I don’t think she realizes that she’s kind of screwing herself, ultimately, bc no judge is mandated to give her credit for the nearly 4 years she’s already been in jail. If she would’ve pled to involuntary manslaughter or something like that she would’ve faced maybe 10 years. Sometimes less. But she’s prolonging this process herself bc she is either under the delusion that she’s gonna walk, or??? I really don’t see another reason. Just seems like the smarter play to take a plea, or work with your FREE defense, instead of being an entitled jerk and hope for credit for time served?!
Her letters to the judge just rub me wrong, especially her repeating his name over and over again…that reeks of condescension and if she talks to a judge that way I can only imagine how she’s spoken to her five public defenders.
She’s not doing herself any favors with these letters and really thinks she’s special “the whole world is against me”.
Like, sure…I, along with y’all have followed this case to some extent. But she really thinks she’s a bigger deal than she is and that’s just…

So unless she comes up with the money to hire a team of attorneys who will work on her case full time & supply her with daily updates she should probably represent herself.

A judge cannot force a defendant to represent himself/herself.
In fact, judges try to warn the defendant of the dangers of representing oneself. Sarah was read her rights back in 2020, and she has the right to an attorney. Even the most violent predators all get an attorney. It's the law.
