I was advised by a psychologist to try holding things of different textures in my hands. It stimulates the mind enough to meditate.

When I'm out in nature, i like to focus on the water, the trees, how the wind plays.

My husband and I love you guys. These clips help him understand me more and more. After 13 years he finally sees the reasoning behind my quirks 😂

I actually find walking as a form of meditation to be very helpful. Especially when frustrated. The scenery keeps changing and I have to keep focusing on movement on the same time, when it was explained to me that, that is a form of meditation it really all clicked.

I found a mediation technique that works for me and THE MEDITATION IS noticing the "annoyances", letting it slip away to notice the next annoyance :-) It's a thing and it's a meditation.

Swimming meditation is the best for me as an ADHD, then walking meditation, sitting meditation is the hardest, indeed!!

This is absolutely correct!! This is how I am when I try to do meditation! Then like the video I get upset and give up!

I have come up with my own method of meditation that actually allows me to use the distractions around me to get into a deeper zone, I manage to meditate for ages now without even realising it has been ages!

Yes!! When people tell me to meditate when I'm anxious, and I say that I have to already be calm in order to meditate, this is what I mean. I start thinking of shopping lists, how tight my socks are, how long I've been sitting here....
Your videos are amazing. Thank you.

I’m the first one, but if I’m interrupted I’m the second one.

Its very difficult at first to meditate with adhd but its like a muscle. Let thoughs come and go without focusing or following and force yourself back to breath. I go outside where i can listen to the eind through the trees. The most difficult parts are soreness and itching. A proper posture can help aleviate soreness, and itching, if you hyperfocus on getting through it without scratching, though its maddening. Once you get through and get to the calm state, especially after dealing with the past... its bliss. No voices constantly nattering, no songs constantly repeating, no itching or pain.. just calm and peace... seriously addicting. It takes practice and commitment, but its very worth it.

I either immediately feel itchy all over, and cannot get comfortable, or I try to "observe" my thoughts but get pulled into a long ass daydream aka just zoning out in stead of meditation.
The only way I can actually meditate: watching a fire, or running water, like a little river or waves on the beach. Then I do actually get a few moments of semi quiet in my brain

That's why i listen to crazy music and meditate. I focus on the intricate polyrhythms instead of my nothing (which never works)

Some Guided meditation videos work great for me. Especially ones designed for people who have adhd.

Meditation just leads to thought spirals for me, which inevitably becomes shame spirals. Then I'm done for the day. No more productivity.

Don’t do basic neurotypical meditation do observation of your thoughts. let your mind wander and ask yourself why you thought of that and every time you catch yourself wandering ask yourself why and that will take you deeper and deeper into your mind. We aren’t build to find it relaxing to just sit and focus on breathing.

Are there any people with ADHD who have good/different experiences with meditation themselves, or is it always just said from the outside that ADHD-persons should meditate?

I was exactly like this...yet, something terribly strange happened and now i can actually freaking yoga up to one hour...(its a breathing tehnique and some body postures...) i never ever thought i can sit still and freaking breath (so boring and unexciting)
