excellent reviews on the vehicle itself. other car reviewers always show themselves driving the car and talking. it seem more about them and their opinions. but your work is by far directly about the vehicles. great job.

I just bought a silver Prestige Q7 without the Optic package. We own two A4 wagons (my wife likes wagons, not a SOCCER mom). My previous car a BMW 550 GT xI with only 39000 miles started needing a lot of maintenance and repairs. I was hoping to get the Q7 e tron, unfortunately, due to the VW debacle, we may never see that car. Our Audi A4 experience has been quite positive, and so we decided to add this SUV to the stable. As the reviewer described, this is an expensive luxury car. You are possibly spending about 15K to 20 K more than other comparable vehicles. Living in New England, the Quattro system is quite important. Last 3 weeks we have had multiple snow storms. This car handles phenomenally well. Here are some great positives and some ???? item.
1) Extremely comfortable seats and other adjustments.Adjustable and heated back seats was a hit with my friends.
2) Driving feels more in line with a car than a HEAVY SUV type feeling. I used to own a Toyota Landcruiser. I was sold on this car with the test drive. The steering response and the handling, for the most part, feels like a car and not an SUV. You are sitting higher, but do not feel unstable at all. At times, my Land Cruiser used to feel top heavy and gave a jittery feeling.
3) The lane departure warning and the blind spot warning ( a flashing bright yellow LED light built in the mirror. Near the door side). This features, in my opinion, are critical. When you are driving a big vehicle on the busy roadways, safety is very important.
3) The Bose sound system is beautiful. However, it's designed for today's technology. I have older iPods with phenomenal music on it. A music lover has gifted these units to me with hard to find old classical music and songs from the generation past Indian films playback artists. The only way to play the older iPod music is through the auxiliary. It will not allow charging, indexing or shuffling. I have to charge the unit using the lighter slot. The sound system requires individualized adjustment for each device attached or used ( iPhone, iPod, car radio etc). This was told to me by the salesman. It is a pain in the neck.
4) The run flat tires for this vehicle will be " need to keep an eye on the category". My previous BMW had the run flat tires. I went through 2 sets in 37K miles. They are very expensive to replace. This time, I did buy an additional package for the tires and the wheels ($2500). The car sometimes gives a SUDDEN swaying/shifting feeling for a brief second or two. I think this happens more so when the stiff run-flat tires hit an uneven road surface. Fortunately, it is a very brief event and the car regains the control very quickly.
5) Phone connection. The pairing went fine. The menu keeps bringing it back to " who do you want to call". I suspect there is some programming widget that I am missing. Another issue is dialing the extension option after you have connected. Instead of a standard keypad, Audi has offered a linear number sequence. This is not user-friendly and it is distracting. Audi also offers the handwriting pad in front of the shifter. I think this is DANGEROUS. Looking down to enter a number while driving is a " No".
Audi is known for its outstanding technology. Have they over-engineered the MMI with too many options? I hope not! I am still exploring and learning the MMI options, and how to utilize many functions. Only time will tell.
6) The sticker describes average miles/gallon in city, highway etc. I think the numbers are cooked! I do most of my driving in the city with quite a few lights and stop signs. I have gotten about 12 miles/gallon in the city driving ( 16/gallon as per the sticker). Few longer distance trips, I got 22 miles/gallon.

20:30 I agree, I don't know why they're not just making USB outlets standard. No one needs those old school outlets anymore.

Great job. This is the most comprehensive video I've found so far.

I'm planning to order one this week... I'd be interested in a comparison video b/w this one and the 2017 model!

You forgot all wheel steering, night vision and that large diffuse vent on the front passenger seat that helps cool or warm that much faster.

True about the 12v in the back if they were USB but with the 12v u can buy plugs and have 4 or more USB port instead of 2. But good reviews.

I always think about that the 2019 Q7 is the best SUV in all over the world among MB, BMW, VOLVO and LAND ROVER

We were about to close the transaction and drive the prestige model when I told the rep if he can show the third row vent for my dog who's passion is to ride with me. Guess what? No 3rd row vents and it's a big let down. I guess that 3rd row seats are just for competition sake and sale pitch. Here, the Texas heat is between 90 - 100+ degrees F that could last til mid November. That's just outside temp. what about inside the vehicle?
