As a Veteran who served under Reagan, and one who is not a big fan of change, or the "Jazzing up" of my National I really enjoyed this version. back in September 2001. a couple of days after 9/11. Every Radio station in the country played the national anthem at the same time. I channel surfed enough to hear many varieties like instrumental only, the full tabernacle choir, Jimi Hendrix, Country, Soul, Jazz, Pop. It was perfect as this country is everyone from so many different backgrounds. The many styles of same song showed how we could respect our distinctiveness and unity at the same time. USA!

I came here because an article popped up in my Google feed. Many Americans were complaining about the National Anthem. I searched for this video and saw that it was Jon Batiste and thought HOW? He put the anthem in his own style, Louisiana style. His rendition was truly OUTSTANDING! Love Jon and his voice. 🎉❤😊
