We had a food thief in an office many years ago, always stealing people’s lunch. We had a new person start, and their lunch got stolen first day. Unfortunately for the food thief, the newbie had brought in a homemade curry made with a couple of scorpion chillies. Needless to say we quickly discovered the identity of the thief.

Yep, happened to my roommate. He would steal my food all the time and I would pick on him a little but it wasn't a big deal. Well, he went out of town for Christmas break and I left later in the week. Basically, we were both gone for six days. I had forgotten to clean out the fridge before I left and there was some chili in there that was already several days old when I left.
He returned the day after New Years and thought that I had also returned but had gone out. I had a delayed flight so I hadn't been there yet.
He ate the chili... the nine or ten day old chili.
He was so sick when I got there that I was actually scared for him. He was fine after that and that's also when we both learned to label the food with a date... and also to ask before eating someone's food.
