Reset BMW Window Regulator that rolls in pauses

Hello guys, today I show you how to fix your window regular that doesn't fully roll your window. This might be helpful when your bmw window regulator has been replaced and your window needs to be reset. Works with various bmw's, it has been confirmed with bmw e90 e91 e92 e93 / e60 / and x5

1- From the driver's seat, press the window up/down button that has to be reset (Either up or down work).
2- At the same time turn on the ignition (DO NOT PRESS BRAKE PEDAL)
3. Hold for 10 seconds
4. turn off ignition
5. Turn the car on

THE MAGIC IS DONE! Enjoy your window :)

Thank you bro ! I had a similar issue with my driver side rear window. I replaced the actuator but the glass wasn't working properly. After googling for hours, came across this video and ola ... It worked like magic. Dammn ... feels like I am spending all my life on researching and fixing these crap BMW machines .. but again this crap is my addiction ..

Ok guys, it’s working like in the below steps, but I struggle 1 hour to find the right way for my wife’s G30 plugin hybrid on YT. Obviously couldn’t find the right method and even this video is not very specific.
Step 1: go inside the car and close the door
Step 2: hold up the door button on 1st stage (step) and start the car but don’t press the brake, so you don’t actually running the engine.
Step 3: count until 10-15 while you keep the button up.
Step 4: stop the car first and after release the button
Step 5: start the car again and try to open the window.
For me it worked like that but again after viewing a lot of similar videos.

Dude you're not being very specific with the process . You're not telling us if you're holding in the up position or down? Hold it before inserting the key? Hold it before turning on the accessory position? Or when to leave go of it. Etc etc. You have great intentions. But you gotta make videos understanding you know the exact process but not everyone does.. That's why we're here

Just replaced the rear drivers side window regulator on my 2007 328i, but I couldn't reset the auto up/down for it. After a few hours searching, I came across this video. It worked! I had to do the steps a few times and it didn't seem to work until I used the front drivers side window in the process along with the rear drivers side window that I was fixing.

Excellent! Thank you so much! ...the trick you showed is that you have to perform 2 resets, the first by rolling the window down and holding the button for 20 sec's, then again by rolling the window up and holding the button up, again for 20 sec's. I had replaced the regulators in both back windows and these steps stopped all weirdness with the window going up then down or then up and pausing. Thank you again!

Thank you. I have my both rear window throwing this error after putting new battery in my e60 520d 2006. I have done your method which corrected the rear left side only. The rear right side continue with the problem. Finally I did the following and corrected the problem. Ignition on and go to the affected window . Press down until the window fully open it will take few presses. Once fully open press the button fully down for exactly 17 second (look at your watch ) let go with the button and immediately left the button up all the way and keep it that way. The window now will go up all the way and down all the way and finally up again all the way while you are still holding the button up. Finally the window will stop and your fault corrected.

So I have a question, just replaced my window regulator and the window was going up and down in pauses. Tried to reset and nothing would work. This morning, the message I would continuously get for the window regulator on my dashboard doesn’t come on, so I put down the back window down again and now it doesn’t want to go up. If I try your method, will it reset the window? Mind you, the regulator is brand new. Asking for a friend :(
