I used to want to be a model and pursued it for years and got rejected and couldn’t figure out why. It even got a little frustrating because I would meet people who would tell me to try again like I hadn’t signed up to all the agencies multiple times.

I began to realise that there was definitely a reason all my attempts fell flat. This is where the saying “rejection is redirection” rang true, I began to realise that the majority of the industry doesn’t align with my current core values and would probably lead me to have to operate out of integrity, in order to thrive in the modelling world. Something I’ve become more solidified in not doing.

Why would I compromise my integrity and beliefs when I could follow the path God has ordained for me? …I won’t!

Professionally seeking validation has got to be draining! I think modelling can be so creative but often in a lot of professional spaces the creativity element is not for the ACTUAL model but for those surrounding him/her.

I'm watching this a bit late, but it's striking to me how the beginning of your video is similar to the beginning of a Sinead O'Connor interview I'd just watched before clicking this. It's titled "Sinead O`Connor - Arsenio Hall 1991" and she talks of the music industry driven by money which is why she declined the many awards given to her since the industry did not align with her values. She felt people in her position should use it to bring awareness and speak up for others when the industry only pushes products for profit often neutralizing, or worse, dissolving the creativity from the artists. Sinead O'Connor is seen as being before her time, but her integrity and purpose rippled across decades, had a meaningful impact, so you recognizing this now before devoting yourself to it (modeling industry) will only focus your gifts and efforts in the better direction!

Good on you for having such insights about the industry and being authentic with yourself. That being said I think you are stunning :)
