Welcome to the beautiful Versailles 🇫🇷
Probably one of the most popular day trip from Paris! If you’d like to visit this historical city and more specifically the Palace of Versailles, I’m listing all the information you need to plan your trip.
How to get to Versailles ⬇️
Get the RER C train to Versailles Rive Gauche (around 35mins ride) or get a train from Montparnasse to Gare de Versailles Chantiers (35mins).
Versailles is located on the outskirts of Paris and is in Zone 4. You can purchase a Mobilis ticket which is a daily ticket to make unlimited trips within your selected zones - zone 1 to 4 will come up to 14€. You can purchase this ticket in any metro, RER, tram stations (use the machine).
Book your Tickets for the Palace of Versailles ⬇️
You can access the Palace for free if you are under 26 & EU residents or under 18 for non EU residents.
Note that you will still need to reserve a ticket online and bring your ID on the day of your visit.
Every first Sunday of the month the palace is free to access for everyone as well as many other museums in Paris.
Palace + Gardens : 20€ admin fee

If you are looking for a unique and unforgettable destination in France, you should consider visiting Mont Saint Michel island. This small island in Normandy is one of the most visited and photographed places in the country, and for good reasons. It has a rich history, a stunning architecture, and a breathtaking scenery. Mont Saint Michel is a must-see place in France.
This place is a stunning destination that combines natural beauty and historical significance. The island is crowned by a medieval abbey that overlooks the sea and the surrounding bay. Below the abbey, a quaint village of about 50 inhabitants offers a glimpse of life in the past. To fully appreciate the charm and tranquility of the island, it is advisable to visit it at night, when the crowds of tourists have left and the lights create a magical atmosphere. Mont-Saint-Michel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visitors can access the island for free at any time of the day or night. The island is illuminated from dusk until midnight throughout the year. There is a parking lot on the mainland where visitors can leave their cars and walk to the island along a 2km/1.25mi causeway. The entrance to the island is free, but there is a cost to visit the Mont Saint Michel Abbey. Admission to the abbey is €10 for adults and €8 for concession, which is well worth a visit.
One of the most striking features of the abbey is the statue of St. Michael that stands on top of a spire above the roof. The statue, sculpted by Emmanuel Frémiet, depicts the archangel as a warrior who protects the island and its inhabitants from evil.
To enjoy Mont Saint Michel without crowds, it is best to arrive early in the morning before the buses and coaches arrive. The island has several hotels that cater to different budgets and preferences. Some of the most popular ones are the Mercure Mont Saint Michel, Le Relais Saint Michel, and Les Terrasses Poulard, all located within the walls of the village.
