This is a boat tour of a Boréal 47.2 "Chiara".

When we were in France we had the opportunity to look closer on the Boréal 47.2 and we made a video of our boat tour. It may not interest everyone, but hopefully there is someone who is curious and would like to have a look inside.

We might not have the best film quality, but it is authentic.

We are Jeanette & Fredrik, sailing our Boréal 55 OC Aluminium boat, just the two of us on small and big adventures! A youtube follower described us dearly as elderly sailing couple, with YouTube standard it is probably true, even though we feel young as we are enjoying life!

Love it. So compact and made for safe passagekeeping foremost. One can safely circumnavigate in her. It just looks safe. There I said it 3 times. It is not a party boat.

Thanks very much for the tour. A lot to like. Definitely looks safe, practical and seaworthy.

I still don't like aft helms, but helm position is very difficult to solve. Center helms use up too much boat space unless the pilothouse is built around it as in Amels. On the other hand most passagemaking is done on autopilot, and the aft helms have good visibility for actual manual sailing.

The interior and layout are very practical and tasteful. To me the interior almost looks more Scandinavian than French in terms of shapes.

Not sure why the pilothouse needs to be so curvy but I suppose it's intended to have less windage when sailing to wind.

Agree this is a better design than the Garcia 45 in some ways.

The hull construction is efficient and French rational if a bit less reinforced than some of the Netherlands boats, which for example weld the frames to the hull plating in addition to welding the stringers to the hull here.

I have a question….How do you do ….if you need to change the motor in the future? How is going out?

Love it. One small thing for me: am concerned about the headlight though. The specs show that the 47.2 has more height in most locations than the 55 OC. What was the height like? I am 6''3". Are you both tall?
