Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach: the Ruin DLC introduces us the the Mimic, a terrifying endoskeleton-like creation that stole Gregory's voice to lure us into the pizzaplex. Normally you only encounter this at the end of the game, but what if the mimic chased you everywhere? Let's find out in this absurd FNAF Ruin mod!

Honestly having a Pursuer type enemy like Nemesis in SB would’ve been so cool, what Vanny should’ve been really.

I like to imagine that throughout the game the Mimic stops chasing Cassie and just pulls out the walkie-talkie pretending to be Gregory. Cassie just turns and watches it as they have an awkward stare down, then the chase continues on.

I saw someone else do this in the main game with Glamrock Freddy always chasing you!
Note that: because Freddy is usually called by Gregory throughout the game, that means that Freddy is really fricking fast!

Now that I think about it, it would’ve been great if you could put the VANNI mask on and see the Mimic in his costume, as this withered/nightmarish version of Gregory.

Can we get AstralSpiff to run this challenge? This is a necessity lol.

who made the mod should make the teleporting less unpredictable, and make it only disappear when out of view or something like that, so it feels more immersive. But also make a "hard mode" where the mimic has this unpredictable teleporting.

I like the idea of the second mimic (the one that follows you throughout the entire game) is a mimic that didn't copy mister aubergine man's behavior and is now working with max (that's how I like to call M.X.E.S) in order to try and stop you from freeing the evil mimic

Mimic just wants to tell you about car insurance and tax fraud problems. Let them tell you

Question: can the Mimic be added to the main Security Breach? If so, can you beat the main game of Security Breach with the Mimic hunting you down the whole time?

You can actually use the arrow keys to do the security nodes you just have to click it first and then you can use them

My idea for making the teleporting less random and unpredictable- if you are the programmer, or know them.

Instead of just randomly teleporting the mimic every three seconds, instead, every three seconds (or however often), check for the mimic's x and z location. If two or three or so of these checks in a row have the same result, or close enough, then teleport the mimic, as this means it might be stuck, and needs to be teleported to be unstuck.

Not checking the y position because- if it is falling out of bounds, the y position will be constantly changing as it falls, meaning it would never be teleported back in bounds.

This will mean that if the mimic is just chasing you in a more open area, it won't just be randomly teleported somewhere else mid-chase, but instead, actually be able to chase you until it does get stuck.

Maybe having it do a random teleportation once every minute or so to get it unstuck in case it gets stuck in a place where it can move around just enough for the position check to think it isn't stuck, as well as spooking you when it disappears mysteriously mid-chase. But it wouldn't have to happen once every three seconds like this.

I'll be honest and this sounds stupid, but, I genuinely didn't know that the mimic had a proper chase A.I. complete with path finding.
Since the chase area is linear and he moves at a constant pace until he "slows down" at the faz-wrench segment (in reality he's not moving at all)
I figured he was going on a set path that was preprogrammed, a path that changed if you opened the scooping room. :/

I guess it was stupid of me to assume that, though it does make me ask, why would an enemy that only exists in a purely linear chase have an actual path finding chase A.I. in the first place? I guess maybe for if you manage to get behind him, so he can still get you.

I'm reminded of the two poppy playtime chase sequences where the Devs use the art of illusion to make you think the chase is "active" but it's actually made of several different pre-rendered segments that flow together etc.
I thought something a kin to that was happening with mimic, guess I'm a moron lol.
