You can make a beautiful paper cut lightbox with some cardstock, a Cricut, and LED lights or fairy lights.

Update 2023: I can't seem to find the files on CF anymore, but I found similar ones on Etsy.

Foam poster board from Dollar Tree

My tape glider ended up breaking so I didn't add to the recommended items!

The two hardest parts of making a shadow box is getting the right dimensions for cutting the image and even more so, the lights. Every video kind of skips over those two items.

If you use double sided sticky pads instead of the really thick poster board, you will have less space between each layer which means it will fit in the box so you can put the back on, then you can glue the battery pack to the back side of the box frame. Otherwise how will the picture stay securely in the frame and not look so messy from the side or the back?

Great tutorial! I read in a Facebook group that the aluminum wrap does not sharpen the blades… still good for getting off bits and pieces.

My box is slightly too big. Could that be why the light doesn’t show through or are my lights just not bright enough

Good tutorial but wondered about the finishing and neatening of the back, seems unfinished to me.

Sticking your blade in the foil could actually damage your blade. Cleaning with rubbing alcohol is better for longevity of your blade. Great video!! I'm going to attempt this 😊
