Many thanks for this and all your excellent content, please can you tell me if the kindle has the capacity to be brighter than the kobo libra colour, either in terms of the whiteness of the background screen or how bright the device is able to go? I actually had the kobo libra colour briefly but returned it due to the screen max brightness not being bright enough for me.

I wanted to love my colorsoft so much but sadly I didn't. I didn't have the yellow band but the font wasn't as sharp and it was grainy. I returned it for the new kindle scribe in the jade color. I must say I love the scribe in a way I wanted to love the colorsoft.

one thing i dislike about the PW and CS is that in landscape mode, you can only rotate the screen so the bezel is on the left hand side. there's no way to rotate it so the bezel is on the right unless you jailbreak it

I got my Colorsoft in the UK just before Christmas and it is yellow-band free thankfully! By trading in my 2016 Kindle I got £100 off, so it was a reasonable £170 for me. I colour-code my highlights for plot, theme, character and quotes, so there’s a real advantage to having the colour. I wouldn’t go back to B&W now. And I find the screen really comfortable to read from.

A small, low resolution, low contrast, dark screen would not be my first choice for reading colour comics or other illustrated material.

Considering the price and caveats, I'd go for a Kobo Libra Colur (with also a pen) or stay with a B&W screen since I just read books 99% of the time.

What I’m going to do is keep my kindle app with kindle unlimited on my iPad, then buy the Kobo Libra color ereader with the pen in white get kobo unlimited it’s only like 9.99 for both books and audiobooks a month in addition I can get library books and audiobooks as well . I want the best of both worlds .
