For those who are wondering, with the G29 + Logitech Shifter, the clutch is fully functional, and the way it is utilized is brilliant. As best I can tell, the game lets you choose to use/not use the clutch on the fly without having to change any settings. What this means is you can ignore the clutch and just shift via the paddle shifters or the gear-shift WITHOUT any clutch input, and the game handles the clutch for you. However, if the game senses you using the clutch, it will punish you for missing your gear (you will get stuck out of gear and have to use the clutch to get back into gear). This is NOT car dependent.

You can go back and forth from paddle shifting (without touching the clutch) to full h-pattern shifting with clutch on the same lap of the same race, and the game just knows what you are doing and lets you do it. It's amazing.

When I first got started and couldn't find any setting adjustment for manual versus manual + clutch (like in Forza), I panicked a bit. I like to RP a bit, and change gear the way the car I am driving would actually change gear - paddle shifting with no clutch in modern race /super cars, but h-gate shifting with clutch on cars that actually have 3 pedals. Forza makes that tricky, as I have to constantly jump into settings and change back and forth from "manual" to "manual + clutch".

Clutch pedal DOES do something. You can use the H-Gate WITHOUT the clutch, but as soon as you step on the clutch, it seems to activate the clutch pedal and you will only be able to use the H-Gate with the clutch depressed afterwards (or you can still use the paddle shifters without the clutch). At least this is what I experienced, testing it out.

You can buy a fully customizable manual transmission when upgrading your car and this activates the clutch when starting and shifting up and specifically down

Pause the game while racing, R1 to scroll the menu into controller settings and you'll see the button configuration for all the wheels that are compatible (also G29/G920)

The clutch does have an effect. If you don't hold the clutch and shift properly you will be stuck in neutral.

Be careful. If you end a race using manual gears - put it in neutral. If you don't, next time someone starts a race planing to use paddles theyll be in the gear you left it in. Starting a daily race in 6th gear is embarrassing.

My G27 works great with my CronusMax+ adapter, it basically fools the system into thinking its a G29. Im running this setup on a PS4 Pro. I had the same experience where the PS4 Pro doesn't see it as a wheel but a controller, but everything works including gear shifter, etc

Great setup but i would need a bigger room plus it looks expensive to buy
