Hollie and James are in love. They are planning a wedding, but Hollie has got a bit carried away and doesn't care about the cost. James does, however - they have just bought a house and don't have a spare penny. So they are given £12,000 towards their big day and James has a chance to prove himself to the woman he loves. But there's a catch, as every single decision between now and the wedding must be made by James alone. James and Hollie have agreed, in the presence of a lawyer, that there can be no contact whatsoever. And the bride will know absolutely nothing until the big day. Three weeks apart will push their relationship to the limit. So will James find the perfect venue and get the dress right? And will there even be a wedding? Don’t Tell the Bride is a wedding show like no other; instead of the wedding you want, it’s the wedding you’ll never forget – hopefully for all the right reasons! Each episode follows a couple through the entire process of organising a wedding, but the twist is that the bride has absolutely no involvement. For better or for worse, she has agreed to hand overall control of the wedding to the groom. She has no idea where she’s getting married, who is turning up or even what she is wearing until the big day itself. The couple are separated for the month leading up to the big day and the groom has to pull off the whole thing in secret. Will the relationship survive the strain? Will the groom succeed in pulling together the perfect wedding? And is his idea of perfection anywhere near hers?

Some grooms pick dresses based on what they like to see, ie the one who chose a mini skirt dress cause he loved the brides legs. Sweet but a bit objectifying.

He may not have picked the right one but you can see it's cause he knows she's beautiful and wants her to see herself as he does. That what she is insecure about isn't actually there and he wants her to feel that. Like it'll be an awakening for her inner confidence to wear something so different and see how stunning she it

It's a lot sweeter and kinder than the 'She looks hot in X, so I'll put her in X'.
The sentiment is there and I think kinda trumps what he actually picked, it can be very hard to see that perspective from the insecure side though
