Don’t buy a black suit unless you are a waiter or a limo driver. Buy a charcoal grey suit. You can wear it in 90% of the same situations and the other 10% is because you should be wearing a tuxedo.

As someone who sells suits I always recommend medium to dark grey for your first suit, literally every color matches, with black your doing black shoes and belt, with blue your doing brown shoe with matching belt, with grey you can do either
