I bought a manual E36 M3 coupe for $7k with 160k miles during the early days of COVID shutdowns. I put maybe $1500 into it fixing and preventing typical E36 issues.

I sold it last year at the height of used car hysteria for $16, 500.

Paid $8k for my E36 M3/4/5 w 80k miles in 2012. Worth easy $18k today w 115k miles. It has been an amazingly reliable and fun car. I drive it spiritedly, but never abuse it.

When I first got it no one cared snd k always flew under the radar. Then starting in 2023 something strange started to happen. People would take pics of the car, give me thumbs up and would stop me to talk about the car. I have a feeling these cars are about to skyrocket even more.

Should check out the market for M3’s in Europe 😂. In Norway 328’s go for 15-20k$ these days and 3.0 m3s are 40+. Euro engines tho but still

In the time since I paid $2k for my 328is, the value has tripled, so I can only imagine M3s.

Plus E36 M3s only come in two flavors: Ratted out with high-mileage or pristine for a number no sane person would pay.

Mine has 180, 000 miles easily its worth 17k now. All stock and original and sold one last year with lower miles for 20k. GREAT CARS

I paid $13, 5 for a 97 in 2005 with 70k and sold it for $11k 2 years later with 117k on the odometer. I miss that car, but I can't imagine the current prices for these cars.

I worked at the Studio for one of the biggest car companies in the world. I drove and testes ALL the new M3's and NONE of them drove better than the E36M3. When you say 8k driving experience you are talking out of ignorance.
