I know at one time flipping to gain more distance was being used by many long jumpers trying to get to the Olympics but it was banned due to safety concerns. I guess it's still used in the lower levels. Hell, I think it adds more excitement to the event. 😆 🤣 🤪

Think of the distance between the first landing foot and the second, then add a couple feet. That could have been the jump.
