Top 3 Fox Body Ford Powered Engine Swaps! Dyno & Build Comparisons | Windsor/Coyote/Godzilla

Engine swaps in Ford’s Fox chassis cars, mainly Fox Body Mustangs, have been popular for a long time. Why? Well, the Fox chassis is easy to work on, has an abundance of aftermarket parts, and the cars are still somewhat plentiful. Although, they aren’t as cheap as they once were. But, we can say that for just about anything in life.

Over the years, we’ve done some cool projects! It's hard to pick a favorite as they all have their own bit of character and soul. We just like to work on the cars and live the life as our customers do.

I wish I would have gotten a Godzilla for my 89 hatch. I actually got a gen 2 coyote that spun a rod bearing for dirt cheap and couldn’t pass it up…but I’m okay with it. Coyote is a superior engine. Just gonna miss the chop of my old skool 302. 😎

My favorite is the Windsor engine! It's compact compared to the coyote modular and the Godzilla.

Very cool comparison video, very cool cars, if i had to pick just one would be 393 Windsor also.

coyote: high rpm HP monster, low tq
zilla: TQ monster, low rpm
393: TQ, high just right.
(393 with a really good Holley EFI tune will likely run as smooth as the 'yote)

ASC looks the best.

I have a Godzilla I'm working on as well as a hydraulic roller 351w.
I had a 460 too.
Although your tests were in a Mustang, my project is a 1984 Crown Vic 2dr sedan.
The car was going to get the 460.
I decided that engine was too wide and heavy.
The Godzilla is going into a 2007 F150XL, standard cab, shortbed.
So that leaves the Windsor for the Vic.
A 408.

Lawd have mercy... Great heads on that 393, but something is holding it back. Those are 347 numbers. Seems like it should be making closer to 500 rwhp.
