There are lot of methods to cut glass bottles, but non of them could make the job easy and effortless as this Automated Glass Bottle Cutting Machine. It could slice bottle after bottle in seconds!

Interesting to see creations like this. A lot of the older mechanics, machinists, carpenters, and blacksmiths I've met or watched almost always have a few homebrewed tools or contraptions for specific tasks. I work with glass sort, I just haul it as a trucker. Bulk sized huge sheets in packs, to be cut down by customers into doors, windows, or whatever else. Been hauling it for 7 years now.

I just got done building one of these based on this video and it does in fact work. The line that everyone says is a score line is made by the bottle rubbing on the heating element. That said, I think you do get better results if you do score it. I still have some tweaking to do, but it does work like the video.

Good design. Elegant and illustrates principles of alignment and jig construction. Well done!! If I build one of your units I would add a small ruler to the base, for more repeatable cuts.

I think is a fantastic setup and well presented. I like the idea of using paper as shims. One safety point I would recommend is that opening to the terminals connected to the motor should be covered as there will be mains voltage on them when in use. The bottle being cut does provide some protection but not enough. Other than that, what. a great job

I can see the score line made with a glass cutting scribe first. The bottle doesn't have one, then it appears : @9:07 and is NOT in the same parallel as the heating coil. The coil on it's own cannot give such a precise cut - at least be honest about it.

Thank U so much! I am making a 3D Print version of this. Just tested the elektric never mind U get AC regulator for under 10 Bugs . The power of the sun in my palm 🤣. Normally I copy designs and make them better but take this as the most honor if I say....there is nothing I could do better than U. You should like start one of those monthly box things; or, just a one off box, doesn't have to be monthly subscription service; where all the pieces with instructions are sent and we get to put it together! THIS is one project I would totally want to build and would use constantly.

I love the simplicity of the design. You could even use and eye dropper instead of the paint brush. Anything can deliver a drop of water.
