In this video, I take you on a journey through the newly opened Kareem’s restaurant in Pune Camp, where we explore their rich Mughlai flavors and iconic dishes.

Originally established in 1913 near Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, Kareem's is one of India's most legendary culinary destinations, known for bringing royal Mughal dishes to the masses. The founder, Haji Karimuddin, began by serving Aloo Gosht and Daal to visitors at Delhi Durbar in 1911, and since then, Kareem's has grown into a nationwide favorite.

Kareem's menu is famous for its Mutton Seekh Kababs, Chicken Burra Kababs, and signature dishes like Mutton Nihari and Nargisi Qorma. In this video, I try out these Mughlai delicacies along with their Murgh Biryani Anarkali and share my experience of their authentic flavors.

The reality is far from what has been claimed. I, too, had high expectations from Karims, but let me put it bluntly: ‘Big name, small show.’ The place is tucked away in a remote part of the camp. I visited around 1 PM specifically for nihari, after calling ahead to confirm availability. Despite it being a Saturday afternoon, I got a seat fairly quickly. But when I tried to place my order, the waiter casually informed me that nihari was sold out. On top of that, he said chicken dishes were unavailable and would take two more hours to prepare.

Fine, I ordered mutton qorma, which was mediocre at best—a 3/5. When I asked for biryani, the waiter told me that it would take another 2-3 hours to be ready! The waiter’s attitude was rude and arrogant, and he himself admitted they were understaffed. This is what you get from a so-called famous restaurant chain? No matter how many paid reviews or partnerships they push, don’t be fooled. Think twice before trusting places like this.

At 3:58 you mentioned Dalda being used in Pune specifically. I'd like to add that it's not Dalda but most of the restaurants in Pune use Lamb as mutton meat source & Lamb meat is bit sticky so the texture & taste but the mouthfeel is good coz fat doesn't stick to inside of the mouth like Dalda.

Biryani is okish but rest of the food is good. I never had authentic mughalai food so it was a good experience for me. But for biryani lovers i would recommend SP's biryani, behrouz biryani, biryani by kilo, masaledar biryani

I will be very honest. I was in Delhi and many of local friends from Delhi Suggested me to go to Karim's. It was overcrowded and we waited for almost a hour in que.
I ordered Chicken Mughlai and one more chicken item it was purely tasteless.
Thereafter I stayed in Delhi NCR for two years but none of my friends and never went to this place again till I returned home in Maharashtra.
The cuisine in the North is very limited don't expect the different taste from every item.
And these idiots will compare with us.
In Maharashtra you go to any small villages restaurant also you will have the best tasty food it's guaranteed
