nearly spat out my tea when you suggested that the INFANT trot.. come on Laura, use some sense. Walking around is...fine enough with the parent there but a child that age has NO control over their body, no balance, and you're using a horse that gets pulled out and ridden maybe twice a year. You're lucky she's so quiet! I know someone who strapped their infant to a bomb proof pony, well, the pony spooked, reared, and the baby was lucky to survive when she was scraped off along a wall.. and the person who did this is actually an experienced horse woman...what I am saying is accidents can happen and precautions must be respected. I'm sure you'll find this "hateful" and delete the comment but I am saying this out of genuine fear and shock over what I saw and not to be a bully. I did love seeing Honey and Aria, that is such a sweet bond.

you’ll be so heartbroken when some of those grandkids don’t actually like horses. 🥴

I was 5 years old when my mother and father put me on a very large draft horse. My mother reached up as high as she can and my dad would lead me around a ring. No saddle. The horse was not saddle broke, he had previously been used to pull in the fields until my fathers friend bought him. I lived. My mother got a lot of crap for that move by people watching. My mom and dad said big deal, in life we do take a chance and we do survive. A little bit of a slow jog would never have hurt that child, as she had Sophie who knows the pony very well, and mom holding on to the child. Dad said no I respect that. But yep... we do love that little bounce as children, even toddlers. The walk on the large draft horse around the ring was steps that would have been longer and faster than a tiny pony with a toddler. Times have changed, Laura just thought the child would like a bounce for a moment, nothing more. Her trot was like a jog anyway... I don't get some people always wanting to tell others what they feel about what they do with their lives when no harm would have come. But again... I ride and have sine before I could actually walk just being ponied and held on horses and ponies. I have made my own mistakes and one that put me in the hospital. We did not wear helmets back then either. Laura listened to her son and showed respect.
