I am a native English teacher (Canadian) who has been teaching English in South Korea for the last seventeen years.  I have a good knowledge of both the phonemic representation and the phonetic reality of American English (which Canadian English is a part).  I like your lessons very much.

I'm an adult who has always been a native American English speaker, but has had Rhotacism/Derhotacization my entire life, and I just came across this video. It was so perfectly detailed and explained that I feel like the mystery of the r sound is finally answered after 26 years! I will 100% continue to practice based off of this video!

I've never heard/seen a detailed explain like this. Thanks to this vid, the mystery about the pronunciation of r has been solved just now! Thank you, Rachel!!

This video was so helpful! Our 8yo (native English) speaking son has been having trouble getting a good r sound, with more of a w sound coming out, and although we've tried a lot of things, this video was far more useful than any of the speech path ones we've found. Getting a beautiful r sound now!

Hi beloved teacher, I hope you're fine. i really found your lesson on the R pronunciation very helpful. It's quite difficult for non native speakers such as myself, but your lessons are helping me a lot, and making it easier . thank you so much
I recently came across a difficult setuation, when "OR" or "OUR" come before some words like : or irregular. it makes it a little bit harder to manage. thank you

I am also aware of the sounds of other languages as I speak not only English, but French, Russian, and Korean. Those others sounds help me better appreciate the sounds and sound rules of American English.

thank you so much... I've been trying to learn the flap t sound for 3 year and i wasn't able to pronounce it right until now.. you saying its pronounced like the (r) sound in some languages was just the explanation i needed. hearing its like a d sound or a sound, between the t and d sounds, never really helped me pronounce it right

I'm a native English speaker who had to attend speech therapy when I was a kid because I couldn't pronounce this r. I wish it had just been explained this concisely to me, and I probably would've picked it up much faster!
