2018 Unity Island Bed Review | Leisure Travel Vans Class B+ Camper Van RV

The 2018 Unity Island Bed by Leisure Travel Vans is one of the best looking class B+ vans on the market.
** More about this video **
The class B+ vans by Leisure Travel Vans are arguably some of the most stylistic class c vans available today. Their exteriors and interiors are modern, sleek and refreshing. At 25 feet in length the Unity Island Bed edition isn't the shortest in the world and it won't fit into a standard parking space but it's also not so large that you'd feel out of place driving it around a large city like San Francisco. The Unity is built on the Mercedes Sprinter cut-away chassis. That means the front end and cab is complete and finished by Mercedes but everything behind the cab is built and fitted out by Leisure Travel Vans.
The Island Bed edition features a front lounge directly behind the cab. When the two cab seats swivel around to join the two other permanent chairs you have ample seating for 4 around a large, removable table. The two additional seats have armrests and lap restraints but no 3-pt seatbelts. The chair behind the driver's seat converts to a small day bed.
Mid-section in the van is the galley. I love the curved concave and convex cabinets under the sink. They are classy and say "look at me, I'm high end!". There's plenty of storage including a pull out pantry; a large 6.7 cu. Ft. 3-way refrigerator, microwave and deep sink. A large window gives the economically designed kitchen an open feeling.
In the rear of the van is the large, permanent Island bed and adjoining dry bath. The dry bath is ingeniously designed with the shower on one side of the aisle and the toilet and sink on the other. With the door to the shower room open, it doubled as a door for the bedroom - smart. The shower is tall enough for a 6 foot individual with it's large skylight above. The best feature of the island bed is that it can be accessed from either side of the bed. This makes is easy to get into and out of the bed without disturbing the other. There are cabinets above the fancy headboard. The whole thing has a very residential feel to it.
I do have a couple concerns with the Unity Island bed. The first is that the power systems are inadequate. What comes standard is a 1000w inverter, 2 lead acid batteries and that's it. Up to 400w of solar is optional as is a diesel or lpg powered generator. That's unfortunate all around. The second concern I have is Leisure Travel Van's 2 year basic coach warranty. The Unity is billed as a luxury B+ and as such deserves a longer 5 or 6 year warranty.
I really like the Unity Island Bed's interior and exterior styling but I really wish they'd offer a longer warranty. 2 years doesn't scream confidence in their products.
