Hey, first off, I'm sorry this is happening to you. I think you should go speak with someone in HR face to face. Take the contract you signed in August and have them explain to you why you weren't notified before now about the change in pay. I don't know how the school district works, but that email sounds like a bunch of bull that they are trying to get over on you. I'm praying this all works out for the best. ❤

Friend, I literally only saw your channel yesterday for the first time with the March budget (loved it, by the way!). And now I’m seeing this, and I have words. Firstly - a contract, is a contract, is a contract. I work in education admin, with a union, and CBAs (in another state) and you need to engage your union rep. I’m also wanting you to read the ratified union contract to identify the timelines outlined there, as there are usually cutoff dates and clauses with additional stipulations that is written in fine print. AT THE LEAST - your district should have taken the L and honored the contract that was signed and agreed upon, if the situation is that you in fact do not qualify for retro pay. Their lack of acknowledgement of the error is a red flag. I’m mad for you.

School districts don't count that one year of contract work. 💕💕 That's typical everywhere. The increase doesn't apply to you until next year.

Hey there! I would ask to see the pay schedule for the raises. I thought you mentioned it’s union on the last video, if so reach out to your union rep! You were offered that salary and they must honor it.

At your age, I would be looking for a new job in the district or county so that you keep your retirement benefits. If you are not worried about your retirement, I would bounce to a job that pays more. I took a severe pay cut and demotion as a federal employee. I had 10 years to retirement so I stayed. I am now retired with a pension. It sucked to stay there but I was deeper into my retirement plan that you are. At your age, go where you are valued

As someone who use to work in education, I would highly suggest going to our union to discuss this matter because this should have been something that was communicated to you beforehand AND the business office should have caught this before it got to this point. You should not have to have your paychecks reduced because they "over calculated."

If you have a union, get a union rep. You have documentation showing what your pay is. If there has been an adjustment to your pay you should’ve received it at that time. Not after they made a mistake. If needed go ahead and step further and get a EEO rep. Praying it works out for you, god got you. ❤

Hey Cousin
You can act a plum fool with those people, not go change a thing‼️ If you don’t have lawyer money to fight this, chop it up as an “L” start finding you a new job

Awww man, they are making you pay back the overage.

I understand what they are saying but if the contract wasn’t even confirmed when you signed them how were you being paid at the new rate? Yeah you need to go to the union

I would consult with an attorney to see what my rights are.

I’m mad for you. Soo all this time they weren’t aware that they overpaid you? Nor inform you once they decided to hire that this was the case. Cmon job pay system was hacked and for several weeks we had to send in paper timesheets which they did not process only to be told they overpaid us and we all owed back funds.

When was the new (union?) contract ratified? Was it before you signed your individual employment contract?

I would seek legal advice as they are essentially breaking a contract they signed off on
