Vehicle lift failures

This is a clear indication on why it is important for all vehicle lift operators to undergo certified training. People say that one learn from ones mistakes, however a mistake can result to your last mistake ever.

just watching to see what to expect when i install my 2 post lift. alot of issues seem to be with not locking the arms, allowing them to swing out and the cars to fall off.

Most of these could have been prevented by checking that your pins set all the way and give the car a damn shake

I worked in shops for around 30 years. Never saw an issue with a lift like this. We had an ancient front and back pole lift that would drift down if you didn't put the safeties in place, but I have never seen a car lost off a lift like this. No, customers don't drive onto the alignment rack or the pit.

I managed Muffler shops (think Midas) for many years. One of the first things you learn is never let the customer drive the car onto a lift or over a pit. We had a car fall off a lift once because a mechanic who had been previously warned for close calls was not careful enough adjusting the front part of the lift. That was his last day at work.

Unless the accelerator stuck or something, at 0:35 the car driven by someone who can't steer and accelerate at the same time is so common that I see it on dash cam video channels a lot. What is it with people not knowing how to negotiate the driving tools of a vehicle? I just don't get it, unless the gas pedal stuck or something!

Never, but never stand in front of a vehicle that is being driven forward. Asking for a short life, or serious life debilitating injuries. You can stand off to the side and give directions just as well and remain safe.

It’s crazy because my friend bought a 2019 Dodge Charger Daytona And every time something goes wrong he has to put used shit on due to the cost. He already has 4 used different mfg tires on his car. If the car is to much, it’s to much.
