Oscar Nominations Are Out And Still So White In 2016

For the second year in a row, all 20 of the Oscar nominations for acting have gone to white people.

As much as I love diversity, there were not many good movies this year. Idris Alba could have maybe gotten a nod, but I am sorry straight out of Compton is not the best movies of the year. Perpetuating this notion is absolute lunacy. Saying that the oscars are prejudiced to minorities is essentially saying 3000 of the 6000 people in the committee are racist.

Perhaps white actors conveniently had better performances this year? Is that so difficult to accept? If the Oscars were racist, explain the previous nominees/winners that are minorities?

If a non-white person played in the starring roles in good critically acclaimed movies this year then this list would be different. But I didn't see too many exceptional movies starring non-white actors. That's as simple as the argument gets. Male African Americans are only 6% of the USA population but won 15% of Best Actor and 10% Best Supporting Actor in the last 20 years.
Female African Americans are 7% and won 5% Best Actress and 20% Best Supporting Actress in the same duration.
