We need a KEXP / Tiny Desk session of Mk.Gee

There’s flow state and then there’s whatever this current Mk.gee run is. He’s truly on another planet, his guitar seems sentient at this point

does anybody else feel like it is a moral obligation to share this man with everyone you know?

big props to the director and the production team for making these live videos compliment his sound perfectly… it’s like a reimagining of what a live performance video can be and it’s super beautiful

These live versions really carry the energy and sounds he brings to his actual shows. Nice treat for folks that missed his tour, they put you right in the room with him. Hell yeah Mike.

I'm in another body
Whose in somebody else
Both of the headless and heartless
Dancing with themselves, oh, yeah
You're not a poet, you're a liar
I'm not a liar, I'm just high
Why be me whose caught inside
Two people I don't even like, uh-huh
Why me, or better why you?
When we can fake it like, any way we want to
Why bleed when we don't have to?
Yeah, just shut your mouth
I only really want you
Are you holding on?
Don't you wanna get a move on?
Escapism so easily
When we don't have the money to be
Healthily getting out of here (whoa)
Don't you wanna get a move on?
I'm in another body
Whose in somebody else
While you're turning over the whole apartment
Looking for something else
Did you find it?
Did you find it?
Leave it to me to kick the door, uh-huh
Did you find it?
Oh, did you find it?
Oh, are you feeling like a love, electric and found
Why me, or better why you?
When we can fake it like, any way we want to
Why bleed when we don't have to?
Yeah, just shut your mouth
I only really, really want you
Are you holding on?
Don't you wanna get a move on?
Escapism so easily
When we don't have the money to be
Healthily getting out of here (whoa)
Don't you wanna get a move on?
Baby, don't you wanna get a move on? (Oh-oh)
'Cause I do, yes, I
Don't you wanna get a move on? (Oh)
'Cause I do, I
We could find a way
We could find a way

Your parents/older family ever pulled up videos of different musicians that they went crazy over when they were younger? This is one of those for us

As a guitarist, Mk.gee has simultaneously inspired me beyond belief and terrified the livivng fuck out of me.

The amount of planning, practice, and preparation that goes into something that feels so effortless doesn't go unnoticed with his music and these visuals that accompany them. Just genuine greatness.

I love how the lyrics convey this feeling of almost accepting a situation but not being fully satisfied but the way hes singing them sounds angry and almost confused.

The way he edges the guitar 'til it sneezes you can tell it feels so good.
