The Bitcoin Halving 2024 is happening in 50 days! The Bitcoin halving event happens essentially once every 4 years, so this is a topic that needs to be discussed and analyzed.

The reason the Bitcoin halving is such a popular topic is because the number of Bitcoin that miners are rewarded with are essentially getting cut by 50%. So instead of earning 6.25BTC per block, they will be earning 3.125BTC.

This is essentially designed to prevent inflation.

This is a huge event and could lead to an enormous increase in the price of Bitcoin...AFTER a price decline.

I’m 73 and watched several Changewaves take place. Calculators, cell phones to smart phones, the internet, online videos, analog to digital, the eTrade IPO and more. Every time the general consensus was always ’just a fad’ and no one will ever buy things they can’t touch or hold first. Your chart projection is way conservative for several reasons. The biggest is people in your generation already accept digital currency and digital media appreciation for wealth that government can’t piss away (devalued) with no guard rails. Me, I am buying Bitcoin miners. The acceleration of information transfer will increase the value of Bitcoin exponentially. The ‘knock offs’ or coupon copy cats will disappear like Lycos and America Online which most of you younger cats never even saw come into existence or wither away.

What happens to the network and price of bitcoin when the last halving occurs and there is no longer a reward for miners? Would this this bad or good for bitcoin? Feels potentially bad, if the network is secured by miners and they no longer have incentive to mine
