The Supreme Court Thursday held that the sub-classification of Scheduled Castes would be permissible for granting reservation. A seven-judge Bench, headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, in a 6:1 majority ruling, overruled 2004 judgment in E V Chinnaiah vs State of Andhra Pradesh.

All the rich and prosperous people who come under the SC, ST and OBC. should be removed from the reservation as they are no longer poor or exploited, they have all the necessity and should be considered as General. So that poor or needy might gain benefits.
