Israel has denied using a secret AI-powered database to identify targets for its attacks in Gaza.

A newly published investigation into the existence of an AI targeting technology called Lavender has cited unnamed Israeli intelligence sources who claimed it was used to fast-track the identification of low-level Hamas operatives, with an error rate that meant many civilians were killed.

We speak to journalist Yuval Abraham who wrote that article for +972 Magazine.

I already knew about this. It had (mostly) already been reported about early on, the frequency and types of attacks made it clear there was a lot of dependency on a pretty indiscriminate selection, from loose data.
It's why civil servants easily fall under criteria because "enemy" and governing authority are the same thing.
