I have a relative who was married back in '87. He and his wife have been "DINKS" for 36 years. They loved it...until about 8-10 years ago. They started getting lonely, just the two of them, same thing day in and day out. Now they have said they regret not having kids. They try to glom onto other people's kids, hoping to form a connection with them. It doesn't work, it's creepy. And sad.

I guess we are dual income, kids have graduated from college and live on their own. Finally, all the money we earn is ours. We were blessed to manage to build retirement accounts and pay off our home. Not quite as free-wheeling as a DINK, but with some other payoffs in the form of educated kids who contribute to society and can stand on their own. I don't think we missed anything.

In my younger years we called those not as smart as us "DINKS" and we weren't kind.

It's really quite simple. These kids don't know what it's like to have a family. A lot of them were born raised without parents being around. They're in daycare and things like that until they made it into school. They don't understand the value of a family.

Don't forget some folks just can't have kids, while you are making fun of people who ain't having kids. Also the world we live in Why would ANYONE consciously bring more people into it. To suffer, be miserable and judged literally to death by others. Id rather not. Have a nice day

The only way to improve brith rate is have a verry good wealth redistribution system.Edcuated smart People will only have kids if they can provide for them it's not to have 7 so 2 can survive into adulthood. It's to have 2 so 2 can thrive and have all the opportunity others kids have.
