In Tenjutsu, you play as a renegade yakuza hellbent on defying her former associates and loosening their grip on the Secret Garden City. Revealed at this year's Devolver Direct, this fast and fluid rogue-jutsu is the latest game from Sébastien Benard, designer of the acclaimed Dead Cells.

Like everyone is saying, I wish this was actually a big-budget anime game with the 90s anime stylings used in the cutscene. The vibe that established was incredible and to have it shift into more standard pixelated style, even if the gameplay still looks very fun, is definitely a little deflating.

It'd be cool if like, the cleanest modern anime visuals (maybe CC2 at their best or P-Studio, idk) could combine talents with proper indie rougelite dev sensibilities to produce this theoretical banger.

Looks neat, and its the Dead cells dev so its gonna play well. I just hope it delivers on the aesthetic like River City Girls does (which is also a pixel looking game)

I know it says from the creators of Dead Cells but the trailer made me think we're gonna get a complex game like Sifu.

Why show this animated footage if the game is nothing like it.

The protagonist could have been anyone because you only see the character in cut scenes. In game play you can count on both hands the amounts of pixels she's made from.
