I'm not sure what I've been taught about ww2 growing up is entirely true. The way the world has attacked Russia and lied about them makes me wonder. The way our entire government and establishment has attacked anyone who speaks the truth makes me question EVERTHING.

Those who didn't anticipate this outcome should never have any power, anyone who has served in the Armed Forces, for any length of real time, should've been fully aware of this. Sat beside a Ukrainian refugee on a flight last Friday and had a long chat. He was from Kharkiv and was pro Russian, he said, "we knew there was going to be a war from 2015 onwards." He didn't like that there was an invasion but he understood it and felt there was little choice. For us he said, "the war started in 2014." "We are different from the western Ukrainians. Russia, Belarus and Ukraine are one people." "Our government is corrupt, we don't trust them, they turned their military on us." His words.
He forged some documents to get out of the country in April. He will be heading back as soon as it is safe to do so.
