Great video, thanks so much for the insight! Just subbed 😊 I've been working on a huge Action RPG for the past few years (with plans for console releases) and have maintained the same initial mindset; that I want to Self-Publish. Not so much because I want to keep all of my game's potential profits, but more so because I really want to keep all of my game's rights. The thought of a publisher/company/whoever taking over and abusing my IPs, characters, worlds, and everything else I've poured my heart into creating is honestly terrifying, especially after reading more than a few horror stories about solo indie devs getting screwed over by their publishers.

Obviously all publishers are different, but if you don't mind me asking, how did going with a Publisher affect your rights to Glo? Did you have to agree to giving them a percentage of your rights to the game? And if so, what does that percentage allow them to do / not do with Glo? Sorry if that's a broad question; limited experience here 🤣

I heard that book publishers take 80-90% of the earnings, is it the same with game publishers?

you dont need a publisher nowdays not gonna even watch it, just for the ppl puzzling themselves, if your gonna get one and especially if your game is a gem DRAIN them and make them sign the contract it is what it is, its a psychological battle you either sign to give your ass or you either make THEM sign to give their ass and be grateful about it
