One of the most popular figures on the Food Network is Ree Drummond, who loves butter, basset hounds and Ethel Merman. The bestselling cookbook author and the figure behind the top-rated cooking show, not to mention Pioneer Woman magazine, tells Alina Cho, "I'm not a trained chef … I really am a mom who cooks for her family." We also meet Ree's cattle-herding husband, Ladd Drummond, with whom she transformed the small town of Pawhuska, Okla., into a tourist destination.

I remember house-sitting at an exclusive country club in some gorgeous homes. It was only these women who could afford the exclusive lines of dishes, casserole dishes, cups, and glasses and cookware, such as Fitz and Floyd from Dillard’s. Now, with great thanks to Ree Drummond, we all can have even more beautiful items for cooking, serving, and hosting because her things are more beautiful and special because we associate them to someone who is like a friend, someone we feel we truly know.
