great video bro... i'm a hobbyist, making walking canes, i heat up the branch and twist it in a form, if there are curves or notches, i will place it flat on the ground and place weights on the points i want to straighten and just leave it there while the wood dries out, afew months ....then sand it down . Great tips, much appreciated

you just gave me the greatest idea on how to steam bend a long branch !!! AT 3 :40 ... boil a pot of water, put a tall metal pipe in the pot and boil as necessary!!!! THANKS A BILLION THERE

if the bow cracks as you say at 1:35, can you heat it up and glue it back or is the wood ruined? sometimes my canes will crack or split at the curve and i'll just wet it, heat it up and clamp it down, hoping the cracked part will conform as the wood dries, thanks

Hey Kramer quick question: Is there a good way you can staighten twisted bow limbs if it already has a backing on it? I used Titebond 3 and fiberglass tape for it. Thanks!

Kramer love your vids but have a question i have a old long bow wiuld like to shorten the limbs so i can use it as a hunting bow ir bush bow how woukd be best way to do this afraid of destroying a good bow by trying this

I used how water coming out of the tap, But it's not 100% wood so the bow doesn't soak in water.

Natives would just wet the tips in water and then put above fire (not directly over the flames) and then bend with foot. Of course wearing a leather moccasin.

I have a bow on order from a maker on Etsy, but i decided to try my hand at making one as well and i have minimal knowledge. I assume heating/ steaming a bow is a required part of the process, yes?

OMG I BROKE SO MANY BOWS USING THIS METHOD AND OSAGE WAS THE ANSWER😂😂😂 That being said I did use heat gun on one of my ash bows and it worked beautifully...lucky i guess
