About Bungie...i ask my self why didn't Sony do an Audit of the studios performance early after purchasing them? The first thing Nintendo did after buying Monolith soft was determining there Development output and give them advice on how to optimize there development time.

Its sad to see what happened to Bungie, but it seems like it is the result of poor management - and really poor analysis and research on Sony's side. I loved Pokemon Pinball, the soundtrack was fantastic for its time.

It wasnt that microsoft wasnt interested in Bungie...it was they werent interested in the inflated sale price the Bungie leadership was asking for.
If the price was reasonable, microsoft would have scooped them up, increased their size and created two bungie internal studios...one a destiny focused one and one a halo focused one.

The good thing about Deus Ex Mankind Divided on GOG is that it doesnt have Denuvo where the steam version still does (for some reason). Definitely cant beat being DRM and price free.

Imagine spending nearly $4b on a company to guide your live service efforts, and that company tells you to lean into Concord (ie Diet Fortnite). And then you lay off a quarter of their workforce. Bungie should have thrown in the towel after they were done with Halo.

I remember listening to Nate the Hate and MVG talk about Avowed. I think it was MVG who predicted that Avowed would be delayed to next year to move out of the way for Indiana Jones... somebody owes the man a vegemite sandwich

When Bungie parted ways with Microsoft, the reason was Bungie thought Microsoft was too corporate. Then it signed up with Activision, an entity that was even more corporate than Microsoft. Eventually, Bungie allowed itself to be purchased by Sony, and now it's paying the price. You just got to appreciate the irony.

Gamers and History will always remember Satoru Iwata while plenty of gaming CEOs will come and go and few will be remembered. Parson's will most likely just be forgotten and remembered for being someone who fired people while sucking up resources.
