Ronald Reagan: Liberalism is Fascism.

This is a fallacy of the excluded middle.
Fascism is NEVER JUST AN ECONOMIC SYSTEM.
First and foremost, it is a system which divides people into 4 separate and unequal groups:
US, LIKE US, NOT LIKE US, and THEM.
Each group has different protected rights, and the bottom group often does not have ANY rights whatsoever.
So Trump is above the law, like BIG BROTHER or an absolute monarch the first level of the Pyramid of Power. His fellow plutocrats (2nd level, nobility, "LIKE US") are beneficiaries of legislation and not prosecuted for their crimes unless Donald finds it convenient. Under them is the middle class and white populations (3rd level, "NOT US"). These are worker bees who pay taxes and provide goods and professional services to the Royals and nobles and keep the NOT US 4th level under control. Trumpists who aren't plutocrats/nobles are generally in the lower 3rd and 4th levels, but ASPIRE to rise in the 3rd level by forcing brown people -- and their allies -- out of the third level. These are rewarded by being peemitted to take their frustrations out on any of the designated "enemies of the people."
Fascism depends on war to maintain dynamism and cohesion; a civil war or cold war will do.
Liberalism also has private ownership but government regulation actually PROTECTS THE FREE MARKET, by preventing companies from EXTERNALIZING THEIR COSTS OF PRODUCTION, DISTRBUTION, AND EXCHANGE. So liberal regulations make life better for everyone, like food safety rules, safety equipment for workers, standards for construction. Liberal gov't regulation forbids a company from using unsafe practices resulting in dumping 400, 000 gallons of oil over an aquifer, poisoning half a state's well-water for centuries.
Liberalism's goal is to raise the well-being of the community. The middle class grows larger, the wealthy actually pay taxes, too, and the poorest and most vulnerable are protected. Because the middle class grows larger and the poor have better conditions AND SOCIAL MOBILITY, there are A LOT MORE CUSTOMERS for goods produced. That is the real key to the wealth of America from the late 30's through the 90's.
