The current US administration is all about closing off from the rest of the World which is, admittedly, a singularly over-simplified panacea for a host of varied and nuanced problems. A new administration will need to repair relationships and return to discussions of World troubles or lose its position as one of the leaders in the decisionmaking process. FWIW.
