Raise your potted plants/trees off the ground.

Don’t let the roots sit in water, they will rot and the plant/tree will die.
Get 1.5 x 1.5” x 3’ untreated wood and set it under your potted tree. For smaller pots cut the wood a bit shorter.
By raising the pot by just a little bit you allow the water to leave the bottom of the pot quickly.
